I receive the following message on my screen: "support code 1688 - The following ink is finished PG-540 black or CL-541 colour".

At the same time as this message appears on your computer screen, a message may still appear on your printer screen with the following text: "E,1,6, Ink is finished". Press and hold the stop/reset button for 5-10 seconds. The pop-up with support code 1688 and the message on the E,1,6 screen will disappear. The black (B) and colour (C) indicators will then remain blinking. The cartridge will need to be replaced when there is a decrease in colour on the printed page.
