A "cartridge damaged or failed" or "from old generation" message appears when the cartridge is installed in your HP printer.

The problem may be related to an update of the firmware of your printer or the serial number stored in the cartridge chip. You can remove and reposition the cartridge and then close the printer, this allows a reset. If this does not work, you can do this up to 5 times. If possible, we recommend that you download the firmware from the manufacturer's website that does not activate the dynamic security.
